Drivers: About the Lap Timer Transponder

One of the most important component for a Time Attack is the Lap timer system. The Time to Attack Lap timer uses the same, sophisticated system as approved by the motorsport industry standard.

There are sensors on the circuit that detects and log lap times from these individual transponders affixed to all competing cars. Every car receives a unique transponder unit.

Transponder will are generally attached to the front bumpers of competing cars. They are mostly cable-tied / zip tied to the air dam area where appropriate.

These Transponders are loaned to all cars during the event without extra charge, however, an RM100 deposit is required, after which, is redeemable the moment the transponder is returned to the officials.
